Let me take you back to the beginning. Around 2 or 3 months postpartum, I found myself in a bit of a crisis. I kept asking myself, “What now? Am I just a mom now? Do I have no hobbies anymore? What do I even like to do?” Don’t get me wrong, being a mom is a full-time job in itself, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that! But before I became a mom, I used to be active, I had other hobbies, and suddenly I felt like I lost a part of myself. I had this conversation with my husband, and it was tough for him to see me like this. He asked me, “What about fashion? You used to love that, right?” And that’s when it clicked. Yes, I loved fashion, but I wanted to do it differently. I told him, “I want to do something handmade, something modest, and advertise it in a halal way—no female models, because that’s not allowed. I also wanted to generate some extra halal income. So, we did market research, planned everything out, and that’s how Aafiamodesty was born. Alhamdulillah!
